SAT 2 Subject Tests
Course Description

Courses for the SAT 2 Subject Tests at Studyworks are typically offered on an individual, one-on-one basis. In some cases, we may be able to organize a small group class for you if you have friends who wish to join you in their preparation for the SAT 2 subjects. Please ask us if you wish to form your own group class.  At the present moment, we offer courses in the following SAT 2 subjects.

  • SAT 2 – Literature:
The Studyworks SAT 2 Literature course focuses on improving students’ proficiency in using literary terms. In addition to the core subject matter, students are taught general test taking strategies, test format as well as test psychology. The course covers all aspects of the test. At the end of the course, students should be able to understand and apply the different literary terms and be more analytical when reading prose, and/or poetry. There will be plenty of opportunities for practicing concepts taught in the course so that students are adequately exposed to as many different types of questions as possible.
  • SAT 2 Math IC:
The Studyworks SAT 2 Math IC course focuses on building upon basic mathematical concepts for solving complex questions that rely on these basic concepts. The Math IC course zooms in on areas such as algebraic equations/functions, basic trigonometry, geometry as well as data-interpretation type questions. Students are taught general test taking skills as well as strategies to apply for more accurate and less tedious/time consuming problem solving. At the end of the course, students should be able to recall all basic mathematical concepts required for the SAT 2 Math IC, solve problems relating to these concepts, solve questions using non-mathematical ways, as well as apply strategies to check their answers. There will be plenty of opportunities for practicing concepts taught in the course so that students are adequately exposed to as many different types of questions as possible.
  • SAT 2 Math IIC:
The Studyworks SAT 2 Math IIC course focuses on building upon more advanced mathematical concepts suitable for the questions on the test. The SAT 2 Math IIC test is a more comprehensive test than the SAT 2 Math IC test. It is intended for students who have taken college-preparatory mathematics for more than 3 years – two years of algebra, one year of geometry, pre-calculus and/or trigonometry. Students are expected to demonstrate more advanced knowledge of mathematical concepts such as geometry, advanced statistics, trigonometry and more. Students are taught general test taking skills as well as strategies to apply for more accurate and less tedious/time consuming problem solving. At the end of the course, students should be able to recall and use all basic mathematical concepts required for the SAT 2 Math IIC, solve problems relating to these concepts, solve questions using non-mathematical ways, as well as apply strategies to check their answers.
