General Information on the SAT
The SAT 1 or SAT as it is commonly known is a required test
for students who wish to apply for admission into a university
in the United States. It is usually taken by high school
students in their 10th, 11th or 12th grades. Local students
in the upper secondary as well as junior college levels
may also take this test.
The SAT is a multiple choice test comprising
Writing, Math and Critical Reading sections. Each section
is graded on a scale of 800, making the total possible score
in a SAT test 2400. In addition to these, the test also includes
an essay writing portion which requires the student to write
his/her responses to a topic statement. The essay writing
portion is considered for the overall Writing score and will
be sent together with the SAT test score to the universities
that you specify during test registration. Essays are graded
on a scale of 0 to 12.
The duration of the test is 3 hours and 45
minutes. There are many different question types on the SAT
