General Information on the SAT II Subject
Tests
The SAT II subject tests are required for students who intend
to apply to more competitive universities in the United
States. Although most universities require any 3 SAT II
subject tests to be taken while some universities may specify
the exact tests to be taken. Usually, more competitive schools
will require specific SAT II tests for students applying
to specific faculties. For example, an Engineering faculty
might specifically require the SAT II Physics and/or Math
IIC. As a general rule, always check with the university
of your choice to find out what exactly are the requirements
before sitting for the subject tests.
At Studyworks, we offer courses preparing
students for the SAT II Literature,
Math IC and Math
IIC. For more details regarding our courses for the
SAT II, please read below.
Course
Description
All SAT II courses at Studyworks are
offered on a individual, one-on-one basis. In some cases,
we may be able to organize a small group class if you have
friends who wish to join you in their preparation for the
SAT II subjects. Please ask us if you wish to form your own
group class.
- SAT
II - Literature:
The Studyworks SAT II Literature course focuses on improving
students' proficiency in using literary terms. In addition
to the core subject matter, students will be taught general
test taking strategies, test format as well as test psychology.
The course covers all aspects of the test. At the end of
the course, students should be able to understand and apply
the different literary terms and be more analytical when
reading prose, and/or poetry. There will be plenty of opportunities
for practicing concepts taught in the course.
- SAT
II Math IC:
The Studyworks SAT II Math IC course focuses on building
upon basic mathematical concepts for solving complex questions
that rely on these basic concepts. The Math IC course zooms
in on areas such as algebra equations/functions, basic trigonometry,
geometry as well as data-interpretation type questions.
Students will be taught general test taking skills as well
as strategies to apply for more accurate and less time consuming
problem solving. At the end of the course, students should
be able to recall all basic mathematical concepts required
for the SAT II Math IC, solve problems relating to these
concepts as well as apply strategies to check their answers.
There will be plenty of opportunities for practicing concepts
taught in the course.
- SAT
II Math IIC:
The SAT II Math IIC is
intended for students who have taken college-preparatory
mathematics for more than 3 years - two years of algebra,
one year of geometry, pre-calculus and/or trigonometry.
The Studyworks SAT II Math IIC course focuses on building
upon more advanced mathematical concepts suitable for the
questions on the test. The SAT II Math IIC test is a more
comprehensive test than the SAT II Math IC test. Students
are expected to demonstrate more advanced knowledge of mathematical
concepts such as geometry, advanced statistics, trigonometry
and more. Students will be taught general test taking skills
as well as strategies to apply for more accurate and less
time consuming problem solving. At the end of the course,
students should be able to recall all basic mathematical
concepts required for the SAT II Math IIC, solve problems
relating to these concepts as well as apply strategies to
check their answers. There will be plenty of opportunities
for practicing concepts taught in the course.
Course
Duration / Schedule
As students come with varying degree
of abilities, the number of hours required vary. Typically,
students may need at least 3 to 5 hours for the Literature
review and around 6 to 8 hours for the Math review.

To register for any of our SAT 2 courses,

The fee for individual tutoring for the SAT
2 subjects is S$120.00 per hour per student. If you have a
friend or a group of friends who wish to take the course with
you, please call or email us regarding fee discounts.
