Is
it true that taking a Studyworks SSAT course
will definitely raise my SSAT score?
A:
Unlike
other companies who prefer to put their money
into advertising, we use our excess funds for
researching and refining better techniques and
strategies to help you with your SSAT. Our strategies
work. They have been proven by so many of our
students worldwide. However, as with all new
skills and knowledge you acquire, diligence
and determination on the part of the student
are also necessary ingredients for success.
Please do not assume that just signing up and
coming for a course will automatically increase
your score. You have to put in the hard work
and must be willing to apply our strategies.
How
do I register to take the SSAT test and how
long does the test score last?
A:
You
can register to take the SSAT test via the internet
at http://www.ssat.org.
This is the official web site for the SSAT.
You can also find more information on the test
itself on this web site. Test scores remain
active for one academic year.
Where
do I take the test in Singapore (or where are
the test centers?)?
A:
Several
public and private schools (including some convention/exhibition
halls and venues and hotels) have been identified
as the testing center where students can take
their SSAT tests. Testing centers vary from
test to test. Please check the official
SSAT web site for more information on the
testing centers that are accepting students
for your particular test date.
Can
I use the SSAT test in lieu of the SAT test
for University entrance/application?
A:
No.
The SSAT is only meant for admission into secondary
schools. If you wish to apply to a college/university
or other tertiary institutes, you will still
need to take the SAT.

All
our SSAT instructors have a minimum of a Bachelor's
degree. In addition to this the teachers must
know the SSAT format as well as the local/international
school curriculum in order to understand what
areas students will need help in. Our teachers
are also trained in the Studyworks way - how
to make the lessons interesting and at the same
time ensure that learning occurs.
Our
SSAT course will cover all the basics of test
taking, the format of the SSAT, specific skills
and strategies, basic background knowledge of
the various mathematical concepts, writing skills
as well as intermediate to advanced level vocabulary
building. In addition, the students will also
be provided with practice questions and full-length
practice tests to hone their test taking skills.
At
Studyworks. We recommend that you see us for
a free diagnostic test first. If you do well,
you may not even need a course. If you do not
score that well, we may recommend a course for
you. Click

Why
is Studyworks' course fee slightly higher when
compared to some other prep schools?
A:
Education
is an investment. Unlike other companies, we
do not resort to gimmicks such as "limited-time
offers" to attract students. Our students
know we are better and come to us because of
the quality we provide and because they know
they will genuinely benefit from a course with
us. Be wary of companies that offer the "lowest"
or "fee reduction for a limited time"
type offers. You pay for what you get and, as
the saying goes, "if you pay peanuts, you
get monkeys".
I
heard from my friends that you offer discounts
if I sign up for the course with a friend. Is
this true?
A:
Yes,
that is absolutely true. We generally offer
a 5 to 10% discount for students who sign up
with their friends. That means, if you have
a friend who wants to take the course at the
same time as you, you can all get a discount
by coming to us as a group. The minimum number
to form a group is 2. In fact, many students
have found it beneficial to come in groups so
that they have company during the course.
